This perennial event brings together policy makers, elected officials, and community activists, as well as our future leaders from across Texas for productive and thought provoking policy forums during the upcoming 82nd Texas Legislative Session. The event is the highlight of the Texas Legislative Black Caucus and next year’s Conference aims to be the best ever.
On Monday morning, February 28th, the Conference will open with a series of riveting educational and policy forums at the State Capitol, followed by a luncheon, topic discussions in the afternoon at the host site, and culminating with the marquee event of the Conference, the 2011 TLBC Scholarship Banquet from 7 to 9pm in the Capitol Ballroom of the Sheraton Hotel at the Capitol. A breakfast and more powerful panel discussions are planned for Tuesday morning at the Sheraton Hotel.
The theme for the 2011 African American Legislative Summit is “African Americans staying relevant in the midst of changing demographics”.
