Germans Texans' Christmas Market 2010

The German-Texan Heritage Society presents a Christmas festival offering hand-made craft items imported from Germany. Shoppers can choose from nutcrackers, pyramids, smokers and arches, plus a variety of other gift items, books and ornaments.

Ice Skating at the new Barton Creek Resort Ice Rink

Austin's largest outdoor skating rink, illuminated with thousands of twinkling lights, will be open from Wednesday, November 24 through Sunday, January 2 and offer all of Austin the opportunity to lace up their skates and enjoy some festive holiday cheer in the heart of Hill Country.

"ANY" is Austin's New Year Celebration on 12/31

Anyone and everyone is invited to the City of Austin's family-friendly and alcohol-free New Year’s Eve celebration. And it doesn't cost anything to have a good time because our celebration is FREE! So come out to Auditorium Shores for a night filled with live music, films, food, art, and other fun activities concluding with an early fireworks finale!

There is no parking on-site at Auditorium Shores, but there are several City parking garages nearby:

Zilker Holiday Tree 5K Run

The 2010 Inaugural Zilker Holiday Tree 5K will be held on Sunday, December 26th, at 4:30pm. The course runs through Zilker Park with the start and finish lines at the Zilker Holiday Tree.

This event is sponsored by the locally owned and operated RunTex, KEYE, Elevation Burger, Athletes Honey Milk and the Austin Parks and Recreation Department. The 3.1 mile run will start under the Zilker Tree, wind through the south side of Zilker Park, and finish back at the Zilker Tree.

Weather varies nightly from cold to warm, sunny to sleet. Please dress accordingly and in layers. Also, as surfaces vary from pave parking areas to park grounds, please wear appropriate footwear!

Each night, a variety of area entertainers will perform at the Hillside Theatre and provide families and friends the opportunity for diverse holiday enjoyment. Dancers, musicians, storytellers, choirs, comedians, theatre troupes, and more will enliven the night air.
